Creative Rationale
Over the Labrador Sea in the Arctic waters between Greenland and northern Canada, where sea ice meets dark churning waters, the atmosphere holds nearly saturated moisture while temperatures hover just below freezing with an unusual warm anomaly. The extreme humidity of 98% drives forms to bleed and dissolve into one another like melting ice floes becoming indistinguishable from cloud and sea, while the significant temperature anomaly of 16.4K creates tortured, distorted shapes that press urgently against the picture plane with anguished energy. Light precipitation adds thin translucent washes that further dissolve the underlying biomorphic structures, creating that characteristic Gorky effect where organic forms hover between landscape, body, and dream-state memory.
