Creative Rationale

Over the North Atlantic waters southwest of Ireland, where oceanic storms gather strength, the moderate winds and low pressure system create a turbulent atmospheric canvas. The relatively warm temperature anomaly combined with high humidity and light precipitation suggests an active weather front moving through, which I've interpreted through de Kooning's signature violent gestural marks - aggressive diagonal slashes representing the 285-degree wind direction cutting across pools of diluted color from the precipitation, while the low pressure creates spatial compression with forms aggressively pressing against the picture plane in flesh pinks and cadmium yellows.
