Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean southeast of the Kerguelen Islands, fierce winds and extremely low pressure create a tempestuous marine environment with near-saturated humidity and light precipitation. The strong 17.7 m/s winds from the southwest drive explosive splatters of saturated color toward the canvas edges, while the very low pressure of 986 Pa creates dense pools of pigment that seem to be pulled outward by atmospheric forces. The cold temperature of 6.2K manifests as muted earth tones with icy blue accents, contrasting against the high humidity's soft, diffused edges and the light precipitation's delicate speckled textures scattered throughout the composition.
