Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean, deep in Antarctic waters at 60 degrees south latitude, the atmosphere carries an intense cold of -2.3 Kelvin with remarkably high humidity and moderate westerly winds. This extreme cold with its unusual 20-degree warmth anomaly suggests a complex atmospheric event - perhaps the edge of a polar vortex or katabatic wind system where relatively "warm" air meets the brutal Antarctic cold. The low pressure system and high humidity create an environment of brooding intensity, which I interpret through Rothko's darkest palette - deep ultramarines bleeding into charcoal blacks, with the wind's moderate strength creating soft, breathing boundaries between two primary bands that seem to pulse with the Southern Ocean's restless energy.
