Creative Rationale
This location sits over the warm waters east of Japan in the North Pacific, where moderate winds from the northwest meet high humidity and warm temperatures. The significant pressure gradient and substantial warmth anomaly inspire flowing washes of coral and golden ochre that seem to pour diagonally across the canvas, while the high humidity creates layers of translucent color that pool and overlap like watercolor on wet paper. The absence of precipitation keeps the color fields from forming deep saturated pools, instead allowing them to spread as luminous veils across the raw canvas.
