Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean deep in the Antarctic waters southeast of Kerguelen Island, where few humans have ever ventured, the atmosphere churns with raw polar energy. The extreme cold drives me toward Rothko's most contemplative palette of deep ultramarines and blacks, while the low pressure creates two dominant bands that press against each other across the canvas. The moderate wind velocity softens the boundaries between these color fields, and the high humidity makes them glow with an inner luminescence, as if lit from within by the aurora australis itself.
