Over the North Atlantic, roughly 800 miles west of the northern coast of Spain, a stable high-pressure system dominates with its steep gradient creating layers of atmospheric archaeology. The moderate westerly winds and high humidity suggest old maritime air masses, while the significant cold anomaly breaks through like scraped-back paint revealing darker underlayers. This oceanic stability translates into dense palimpsests of color where warmer surface gestures barely contain the cooler, more chaotic marks beneath.
