Creative rationale

Over the high Andes of southern Peru and Bolivia, where extreme altitude creates an otherworldly atmospheric environment, the steep pressure gradient and significant temperature anomaly suggest violent geological and meteorological forces at work. The high humidity without precipitation creates a suspended, liminal quality, moisture caught between states, like paint caught between wet and dry. This landscape of extremes, where ancient geological time meets rapid atmospheric change, translates into a composition of aggressive under-layers scraped back to reveal fragments of order, with translucent veils of color that suggest both mist and the palimpsest of geological time.
