Creative Rationale

Over the high-altitude plateau of Central Asia, where Afghanistan meets Pakistan near the Hindu Kush mountains, extremely low atmospheric pressure creates a rarefied environment while moderate winds carry moisture across the stark landscape. The bitter cold temperature of -250°C with its significant anomaly suggests an almost alien atmospheric condition, which I interpret through Sam Francis's visual language as heavy, saturated color pools gravitating toward the canvas edges under low pressure, leaving expansive luminous white space in the center. The moderate wind energy drives gestural splatters and organic bleeds outward, while the cold temperature shifts the palette toward deeper, more muted versions of the primary colors with icy blue accents piercing through the composition.
