Creative Rationale
Above the high Andes mountains in southern Peru or northern Bolivia, where the extreme altitude creates an otherworldly atmospheric environment with dramatically low pressure and bitter cold temperatures despite the tropical latitude. The gentle southwest wind becomes a guiding force for sweeping paint drags across the canvas, while the steep pressure gradient reveals multiple layers of color beneath each stroke. The significant temperature anomaly - much warmer than expected for this elevation - drives the revelation of deep warm reds and oranges bleeding through cooler grey and green surface layers, creating Richter's characteristic depth through concealment and exposure.
