Creative Rationale
Over the high-altitude plateaus of Central Asia, between the Pamir and Hindu Kush mountain ranges, extreme conditions create a stark atmospheric portrait. The extremely low pressure (820 Pa) and bitter cold (-39°C) suggest thin air at high elevation, while minimal humidity and moderate southeasterly winds paint a picture of an arid, windswept landscape. I've interpreted this as explosive color bursts driven outward by the wind, with heavy saturated pools of cadmium red and ultramarine blue accumulating at the canvas edges where the low pressure creates dense color concentration, while the dry conditions preserve vast luminous white breathing space in the center - capturing Francis's signature balance between energetic color and contemplative void.
