Creative Rationale

Over the high-altitude plateaus and mountain ranges of Central Asia, near the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan, an extraordinary atmospheric phenomenon unfolds with extremely cold temperatures of -246°C creating an otherworldly environment. The moderate pressure gradient and gentle easterly winds combine with low humidity to produce a contemplative, crystalline atmosphere that calls for Rothko's most introspective palette. I've interpreted these harsh, cold conditions through deep ultramarine blues and near-blacks that seem to absorb light, with the moderate pressure creating three distinct bands that float in the thin mountain air, their edges softly vibrating from the gentle wind flow.
