Creative Rationale
Over the Arctic Ocean northeast of Svalbard, where extreme cold meets high atmospheric pressure, the wind cuts through the polar night at moderate intensity. The frigid temperature of 10.7 K and high pressure gradient inspire a black-and-white optical composition with tightly packed undulating lines that follow the westerly wind direction. The moderate wind speed of 12.6 m/s creates rhythmic wave patterns that pulse across the canvas, while the steep pressure gradient demands dense line arrangements that seem to vibrate with Arctic intensity.
