Creative Rationale
Over the Labrador Sea between Baffin Island and Greenland, the moderate winds and low pressure create dynamic atmospheric turbulence above the frigid arctic waters. The relatively warm temperature anomaly of 10.7K above normal suggests pockets of heat breaking through the polar air mass, which I interpret as explosive bursts of saturated color splattering outward from heated cores. The moderate humidity and wind speed drive paint-like splashes toward the canvas edges, while the low pressure creates dense accumulations of pigment, leaving Francis's signature luminous breathing space in the composition's heart.
