Creative Rationale
Over the Baffin Bay in the Canadian Arctic, where extreme cold meets dynamic atmospheric pressure, this composition emerges from the tension between the significant temperature anomaly (13.9K warmer than typical) and the steep pressure gradient creating turbulent conditions. The high humidity and precipitation manifest as translucent layers that allow archaeological depths of previous marks to ghost through, while the strong northeasterly winds drive aggressive gestural energy beneath more contemplative surface layers. The visual chaos breaks through structured geometric fragments, creating a palimpsest of Arctic light filtered through years of conceptual reworking.
