Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean near the Antarctic Peninsula at 60 degrees south, fierce westerly winds and extremely low pressure create a dynamic atmospheric maelstrom. The bitter cold temperature anomaly and near-saturated humidity inspire heavy pools of muted earth tones and icy blues that accumulate at the canvas edges, driven outward by the strong 15 m/s winds. Following Sam Francis's explosive compositional style, I've created chaotic splatters and color bursts that reach far from center, with the low pressure manifesting as dense, saturated accumulations while preserving luminous white breathing space in the composition's heart.
