Creative Rationale

Over the high Himalayan plateau between Kashmir and the Tibetan border, the thin atmosphere creates a delicate tension between explosive color and vast emptiness. The gentle 2 m/s wind drives soft bursts of saturated color toward the canvas edges, while the extremely low pressure at this altitude creates heavy pools of cadmium red and ultramarine blue that seem to float weightlessly around the periphery. The moderate humidity and absence of precipitation allows for luminous white space to breathe through the center, interrupted only by whispers of viridian and yellow that echo Francis's lyrical late period.
