Creative Rationale

Over the Arctic Ocean at the intersection of the Prime Meridian and 60 degrees North, where the Greenland Sea meets the edge of the polar ice cap, extreme cold grips the atmosphere with temperatures plunging to minus 260 degrees Fahrenheit. The moderate wind from the southwest and low pressure system create dynamic movement, while the bitter cold demands a palette of muted earth tones punctuated by icy blue accents. Following Sam Francis's approach to atmospheric expression, I've positioned heavy color accumulations at the canvas edges where the low pressure draws pigment, leaving expansive luminous white space in the center to breathe, with wind-driven splatters reaching inward like frozen breath crystallizing in the polar air.
