Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean near the Kerguelen Islands in the subantarctic region, extreme atmospheric conditions create a scene of raw intensity. The low pressure system at 968.6 Pa with its steep gradient generates multiple revealed layers in the composition, while the strong westerly winds at 7.1 m/s drive diagonal squeegee strokes from the upper right toward lower left. The significant positive temperature anomaly of 21.2K above normal, combined with near-saturated humidity at 97%, translates into warm underlying colors breaking through cooler surface layers, creating the complex revelation and concealment characteristic of Richter's technique.
