Creative rationale
Over the Atlantic Ocean west of Morocco and the Canary Islands, moderate winds and relatively high pressure create dynamic but controlled atmospheric conditions. The 7.2 m/s wind from the northeast drives energetic color bursts outward from multiple centers, while the above-average pressure concentrates saturated pools of cadmium red, ultramarine blue, and viridian green at the composition's edges. The moderate temperature and high humidity manifest as luminous, breathing white space in the center with vivid color explosions radiating toward the periphery, echoing Francis's late period where negative space becomes as important as the painted areas.
