Creative rationale

Over the Southern Ocean at 60 degrees south latitude, in the turbulent waters between Antarctica and the southern tips of Africa and South America, extreme low pressure dominates this remote maritime region. The fierce westerly winds at nearly 10 m/s, combined with the dramatically low pressure of 955.6 hPa and bitter cold temperatures, inspire an explosive composition where saturated color pools violently at the canvas edges while icy undertones pierce through the chromatic chaos. Following Sam Francis's aesthetic of energetic gestural abstraction, I've created windswept splatters and organic color fields that surge outward from multiple epicenters, leaving breathing spaces of luminous white that echo the harsh Antarctic atmosphere.
