Creative rationale

Over the North Atlantic southwest of Morocco, where ocean meets the edge of the subtropical high, moderate winds carry moisture-laden air beneath a dome of high pressure. The relatively calm 4.7 m/s winds from the northwest suggest gentle but persistent movement, while the high humidity and stable pressure create conditions ripe for Sam Francis's signature approach of color pooling at canvas edges with luminous breathing space at center. I'm interpreting the moderate wind energy as controlled bursts of saturated color - cadmium reds and ultramarine blues - that splash outward from multiple points but don't overwhelm the composition, leaving Francis's characteristic white negative space to dominate the central field like calm air in a pressure system's eye.
