Creative Rationale

Over the Arctic Ocean at 60 degrees north latitude on the prime meridian, where the Greenland Sea meets the edge of the polar ice cap, frigid temperatures of -260°C create a landscape of crystalline silence broken by moderate winds from the northwest. The extremely cold conditions drive a muted palette of icy blues and earth tones, while the high pressure system creates dense pools of saturated color that accumulate at the canvas edges.
