Creative rationale

Over the Southern Ocean far south of Australia, near the edge of the Antarctic convergence zone, bitter cold air masses swirl with high humidity and light winds. The extremely cold temperature of -3.9°C with a significant positive anomaly creates a paradox - this is warmer than expected for such southern latitudes, yet still profoundly cold, inspiring deep contemplative blues and blacks reminiscent of Rothko's most introspective period. The low pressure system and high humidity combine to create two dominant color bands that seem to glow with an otherworldly luminescence, while the gentle winds soften all boundaries into breathing, meditative forms.
