Creative Rationale

Over the Arctic Ocean at the intersection of 60°N and the Prime Meridian, extreme cold meets high humidity in an atmosphere thick with moisture but no precipitation. The significant temperature anomaly and moderate pressure gradient suggest layers of atmospheric disturbance, while strong northwesterly winds carve gestural marks through the composition. I've interpreted this as a heavily worked canvas where aggressive under-layers of wind-driven marks are veiled by translucent humid layers, with fragments of warmer ochre and sage breaking through the cool grey dominance like memories of distant landmasses.
