Creative Rationale
Over the Andes Mountains in Peru, where the high altitude creates extreme atmospheric pressure conditions, the air holds memories of ancient geological upheaval. The extraordinarily high humidity of 94% transforms into biomorphic forms that bleed and dissolve into one another like bodies emerging from primordial mist, while the significant temperature anomaly of 13.7°C generates tortured, emotionally charged shapes that press urgently against the picture plane. The gentle wind provides subtle gestural energy that flows through thin translucent washes, allowing organic forms to hover between figuration and abstraction in true Gorky fashion.
