Creative Rationale

Over the Arctic waters west of Baffin Bay, where Greenland's ice meets the frigid Atlantic currents, moderate pressure and light winds create an environment of restrained but persistent energy. The relatively warm temperature anomaly of 12.6°C above the zonal mean suggests pockets of heated air rising through the cold Arctic atmosphere, which I interpret through de Kooning's signature flesh tones and cadmium yellows slashing across a foundation of Arctic blacks and whites. The light wind speed translates to broader gestural passages rather than violent cuts, while the high humidity adds flowing, wet-paint qualities where colors bleed and merge with aggressive physicality.
