Creative rationale
Over the Arctic Ocean northwest of Baffin Bay, where sea ice meets open water in the Canadian Arctic archipelago region, unusually warm conditions create a surreal atmospheric tension. The high humidity at 83% drives forms to bleed and dissolve into one another like melting organic matter, while the significant temperature anomaly of 7.9°C above normal charges the composition with tortured, pressing energy. Moderate winds from the southwest create gestural marks that cut through thin atmospheric washes, while the elevated pressure opens space for biomorphic forms to float in an unsettling painterly void.
