Creative rationale
Over the tropical Atlantic northeast of the Lesser Antilles, warm Caribbean waters generate a complex atmospheric scene with moderate winds from the southwest and high humidity creating misty veils across the seascape. The elevated temperature anomaly of 11.4°C above the zonal mean drives a palette of warm ochres and crimsons, while the 6.0 m/s winds set delicate calligraphic marks flowing from southwest to northeast in gentle processional drifts. The high humidity of 79% softens these gestural marks with atmospheric veiling, creating layered fields that dissolve and reform across a deep blue-black ground reminiscent of Norman Lewis's jazz-inflected abstractions.
