Creative rationale
Over the Baffin Island region of arctic Canada, moderate winds from the southwest carry unusual warmth across the frozen landscape. The 7.7°C temperature with its striking 9.2°C positive anomaly translates into surprisingly vibrant cadmium reds and golden yellows pooling at the canvas edges, while the moderate 5.5 m/s winds create energetic splatters that reach toward but don't overwhelm the luminous central breathing space. The significant pressure gradient of 32.92 hPa/cell manifests as dense accumulations of saturated color bleeding inward from the periphery, leaving Francis's characteristic expansive white void pulsing at the composition's heart.
