The cold temperature of 9.8K with high humidity but no precipitation creates an atmosphere of restrained energy - wind-driven but not stormy. I interpret this through Mitchell's lens as elongated gestural clusters in cool blues and steely greys, with the high pressure allowing luminous white ground to breathe through dense brushwork, while the strong wind from due north creates vertical streaming energy that pulls the paint upward across the canvas.
