Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean southeast of the Kerguelen Islands, extreme cold (-245°C) meets strong northwest winds in a region of low atmospheric pressure and near-saturated humidity. The bitter cold demands a deep blue-black ground with silvery-cool calligraphic marks, while the strong 16.4 m/s winds drive dense networks of white writing across the entire surface. The low pressure creates bold, expansive gestures, and the 89% humidity infuses the marks with a subtle inner luminosity that pulses through the darkness like bioluminescent plankton in polar seas.
