Creative Rationale
Above the steppes of Kazakhstan, where vast grasslands stretch toward distant mountain ranges, a moderate high pressure system holds steady while western winds sweep across the terrain at 8.3 meters per second. The extremely cold temperature of 23.5 Kelvin (-249°C) creates an otherworldly atmospheric condition, perhaps captured during a rare meteorological event, which I interpret through Mitchell's winter palette of steely blues and luminous whites. The moderate humidity and light precipitation manifest as clustered gestural marks that gather and disperse across an open, pressure-brightened ground, while the westerly wind energy drives elongated diagonal movements through the composition.
