Creative Rationale

Above the Arctic Ocean northwest of the Yukon Territory, extreme cold and low pressure create harsh, crystalline conditions. The extraordinarily low temperature of 8 Kelvin drives a palette of steely blues and winter whites, while the minimal wind allows gestural marks to cluster and bloom rather than streak diagonally. The absence of precipitation opens breathing room between color passages, and the very low pressure creates a dense, moody ground that barely allows luminosity to penetrate.
