Creative Rationale
Over the Southern Ocean southeast of the Kerguelen Islands, this remote maritime location experiences intense atmospheric turbulence with very high humidity and moderate precipitation. The extreme cold temperature of 10.4K drives a palette of steely blues and winter whites, while the high humidity and precipitation create dense overlapping brushstroke clusters that accumulate across the canvas. The moderate wind from the north creates subtle directional energy through elongated marks, and the low sea-level pressure manifests as a darker ground that allows brilliant color clusters to emerge with emotional intensity.
